Thanks for this post regarding cook. Appreciate this forum and forum members for helping out in searching cook.
ReplyDeleteWe had employed her for cooking for our family but very sorry to say that we had to fire her due to following reasons.
1) She used to take 8-10 leaves every month, that too without informing.
Every time when she took leaves, she used to switch off her mobile and we were left with no clue if she is coming for cooking and if not then till how many days she will be on leave.
2) On returning back from leaves when we asked for the reason, she used to reply and talk in a very unacceptable manner and used to give lame excuses.
She doesn't even have etiquettes and decency to talk.
3) In spite of us paying her very decent salary, she used to crib now and then to increase her salary and wanted us not to deduct for her leaves.
Suggestion : As some our society members had come up with a salary structure for regular maids, there is a need to come up with similar salary structure for cooking maids as well.
Else these cooking maids will continue to ask for more and more salaries every month.
4) One fine day she asked us to provide her the keys of our flat so that she can come and cook anytime as per her wish when we were not available at the flat.
We denied her because we didn't find her reliable at all to hand over the flat keys.
5) After denying for flat keys, many a times she used to bunk (either morning or evening) giving lame excuses.
When we made an enquiry at the attendance register maintained by the Security, we were surprised to know that she had come to other houses for cooking in My Home Jewel on the same day.
Please see: We have just shared our experience with this maid, however people may exercise their own judgments while making any decision to employ her.

You are right.. mangla did the same with us. She promised that she will come to my flat in the evening time daily and when we called in the evening time if she is coming (from last 2 days), she said she is doing some pooja etc.. but she was cooking in one of my friends flat in coral.

All of you are absolutely right, she promised me also that she will come from tomorrow when I asked her to cook at my home in Jan 2012, but she never came back. I tried her two days but no reposnse. When I called her back, she said there is some problem and I will be late but for sure I will come...
ReplyDeleteIt made me so upset that after waiting for a long time for Sunday lunch, she never turned up and we got our lunch late at 4pm..
Please do not trust her, she promises and never respond back as if she is just keeping our contacts for her emergency use.
Stay away from maid Mangla.. She is very smart and will piss u once taken your number she will calll u again and again

ReplyDeleteBe careful of some of the maid cooks, they will take advance and then don't turn up to work.
Our (Jade 1308) cook name is Reshma and taken 2000/- as advance, she seems to be absconding since.
After some time I found her and when I enquired about the card with Reshma, the name on the card is 'Quaja'.
For any worker maid/cook/driver we must ask for photo id & address proof. If they already have MHJ id, collect details and confirm with other resident.
one one got good cook ??? Any suggestion ?

DeleteIts nice that you really want to bring a good cook to MHJ, however a cook can only work for a maximum of 5 families in a day. If he is really good, bring him here as there is always a requirement of GOOD COOK in MHJ and there are no chances he will not get work. almost every second family in here is having a cook at work

DeleteTHanks for writing in. I believe the same that a cook won't be doing more than 5-6 families a day. 15 was more cause he has his brothers, cooks themselves, who will move with him. Anyways I'll pass on the word to him and let him explore.
Stay away from cook Lakshmi.She worked at my flat for only one week and she took 2 leaves. So we decided to change her. Before starting work at my flat she told she would take leaves only during emergency and whenever she took leave she said that her reason was very genuine. When I asked her directly about how many leaves she would take in a month then she told me very rudely that she will take as many leaves as she wants and there is no limit to that, her reply itself says that she is very unprofessional and unreliable.
